This is a key senior management role offering autonomy, variety, and the chance to shape the financial future of a successful and expanding business.

What You’ll Be Doing:

✔ Managing day-to-day finance operations (bookkeeping, payroll, banking, credit control)
✔ Acting as the lead Xero user
✔ Overseeing invoicing, supplier payments, expenses & reconciliations
✔ Monitoring debtors, conducting credit checks & managing financial risk
✔ Preparing VAT returns, payroll, pensions & tax submissions
✔ Producing monthly management accounts & divisional reporting
✔ Leading budgeting, forecasting, cashflow & KPI development
✔ Supporting year-end and audit preparation
✔ Maintaining strong financial controls & compliance
✔ Overseeing insurance renewals and claims
✔ Supporting HR admin (contracts, onboarding, reviews, employee queries)
✔ Driving process improvements, automation and system enhancements
✔ Developing and supporting the finance function as the business grows

What We’re Looking For:

💡 5+ years’ experience in a finance management role (SME experience ideal)
💡 Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, etc)or qualified by experience
💡 Strong Xero and advanced Excel skills
💡 Broad experience across bookkeeping, payroll, reconciliations & reporting
💡 Confident communicator with excellent organisational skills
💡 High attention to detail and discretion
💡 Based within commutable distance of Exeter
